Lobe Pumps

Our Sanitary Lobe Pump series is an advanced positive displacement pumping solution engineered for demanding industrial processes where hygiene, product integrity, and operational reliability are paramount. Designed to handle fluids across a wide viscosity spectrum, these pumps deliver a smooth, low-shear flow that protects sensitive media from degradation or shear damage.

Whether handling delicate food particles, high-viscosity gels, or high-purity pharmaceutical compounds, our Lobe Pumps provide continuous, pulsation-free displacement built to meet stringent international hygienic standards.

Key Benefits & Features

  • Gentle Fluid Handling: Low-shear, non-contact rotation preserves the structural integrity, particle shape, and quality of sensitive products.
  • Hygienic & Corrosion-Resistant Construction: Manufactured with precision-cast stainless steel wetted parts to withstand aggressive cleaning regimes and continuous operation.
  • Broad Viscosity Capability: Effortlessly transfers both low-viscosity fluids and extremely thick or pasty media.
  • Maintenance-Friendly Design: Fast-disassembly chamber and front-loading seal systems significantly reduce system downtime and maintenance overhead.
  • Flexible Configuration: Customizable lobe geometry, connection standards, and seal combinations tailored to match your precise process conditions.

Working Principle & Technology:

A lobe pump is a positive displacement pump utilizing counter-rotating lobed rotors (two-lobe, tri-lobe, or multi-lobe design) synchronized by external timing gears inside an independent gearbox.

  1. Fluid Entry: As the lobes rotate out of mesh at the inlet port, they create an expanding volume that generates a vacuum, drawing fluid into the pump casing.
  2. Fluid Transport: The fluid is trapped in the pockets between the rotating lobes and the inner wall of the pump housing, moving around the perimeter without compression.
  3. Fluid Discharge: As the lobes re-mesh at the outlet port, the trapped fluid is displaced uniformly into the discharge line at a consistent flow rate.

Because the rotating lobes never make direct contact with one another or the pump casing, fluid shear is minimized, and mechanical wear on wetted surfaces is eliminated.
